The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on their website of HUD Homes has a price reduction today for two of their Eugene homes, possibly making them an even bigger deal. These homes, called HUD Homes on are listed the HUD website. These two properties are first offered to people in the Eugene/Springfield, Lane County Oregon area that are going to use them for their primary residence. If there is not enough interest, then they will be offered to anyone.

SHOP (Springfield Home Ownership Program) Out of Funds for FY

Jodi Peterson, Management Analyst, Springfield Community Development and Housing, announced today that the Springfield Home Ownership Program (SHOP) is out of funds until July 1, 2010. Let’s take a look at the foreclosed property for a minute. First of all, we have a property that has been someone’s home and was probably pretty well cared for or possibly, it was a rental and has seen better days. Either way, the owner was not able to make the payments for whatever reason and when they stopped making payments, they probably also stopped with their upkeep of the property. So, most often, you have a home that has been vacant for a few months with an absentee owner (a bank or mortgage investor) that is unwilling to put any more money into the property than they already have invested.
