Many Compete For The Best Deals
The low home prices have got a lot of people out there buying homes, but many home buyers are facing a challenge when making offers. Many home buyers, especially those buying their first home are getting great deals on homes and enjoying prices from 25 years ago. Others however are meeting with a lot of frustration when trying to get an offer accepted.
The banks are trying desperately to purge their inventory of their foreclosures to improve their overall grade with investors and they are doing this by drastically dropping prices of the homes they want to sell. The prices the banks are offering are very attractive to first time home buyers, especially when the home is in a good neighborhood.
The frustration comes in when the home buyers try putting an offer in and it doesn’t get accepted. This can happen on dozens of homes until some home buyers just give up. The reason their offers aren’t accepted is because they are competing with investors who are able to put in cash offers. The cash offers are often substantially less than the home buyer’s offer with a mortgage but the bank would rather take the cash offer is more likely to close and take less time.
