Utah County is offering up to $15,000 in Government Grant Money for Utah Homes

Utah County housing is offering interest free (0%) government grant money for thousands of homes in certain cities. This Utah County grant is up to $15,000! If you are purchasing a home in Lehi, Lindon, Orem, Payson, Pleasant Grove, Spanish Fork, Springville, and unincorporated Utah County you may qualify for this Utah Home Grant Money.

This grant is an 0% interest deferred loan. No payment is due as long as the applicant continues to own and live in the home as their primary residence. The entire amount of the grant can be forgiven. 20% of the loan amount is forgiven on the sixth anniversary of the closing date and 20% each subsequent year. After 10 years the grant will be completely forgiven.

The amount of the Utah County grant will vary depending on the age of the home. If you purchase a home that is 29 years or newer you will get $5,000. If you purchase a home that is 30 years or older you will receive $15,000.

The application process is fairly simple, but can take some time. If you are looking for a home currently it would be a smart decision to apply for the grant immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Credit score must be at least 650
  • Pre-Homeownership counseling
  • Need to be a First Time Homebuyer
  • Purchase price not to exceed $232,305
  • Must not make over income table below
  • No multi-family homes or homes with a mother-in-law apartment
